Icon, File & Folder | Computer basic | Computer Applications

ICON :-

An icon is a graphic object that shows a program or a file on our monitor.

Types of icon:-

1. System icon - System icon are displayed along the left edge of the screen when windows is install these icons already generate or create.
Example - Recycle bin, My Computer, Document Library, Internet Explorer.

2. Shortcut icon - These are the icon with small arrow in the lower left corner. It provide easy access to some object on oyr system such as programs, document or printer.

FILE :-

A file is any collection of related information that is given a name and stored on a memory so that it can be read and manipulated when ever required.


Types of file:-

1. Executable file - The file which does not use any external source to run that files are known as executable file.
All programs are executable file.
Executable file are shown as Notepad .exe

2. Non executable file - The file which use any external source to run that files are known as non executable file.
Notepad file - .txt
Wordpad file - .rtf

FILE ATTRIBUTES :-

Two types of attributes of file-
• Read only
• Hidden

FOLDER :-

Folder is a special kind of files which is used for storing other files or folders.
It is a container which contains files or sub folder.

SUB - FOLDER :-

Folder inside folder is called sub folder.


FOLDER TREE :-

The arranging power of the folder system lies in tha fact that is hierarchical (tree structure).


HOW TO CREATE A FOLDER :-

Click the right button of mouse on a empty place of desktop.

New
  ⬇️

• Shortcut - Ctrl+Shift+N
